I was offered £3,000 for our Viking Caravan last year by a few serious buyers,I was very tempted.
Now I see a Cheltenham Sable for sale at £5,000, I am glad we still have our Viking and did not part with it.

Our friend has our previous owned and restored Cheltenham Sable that is in tip top condition,i must tell him before he sells it to think of a realistic price and not give it away.

Classic Car prices have been on the rise for some time now,does this mean the end of inexpensive Cassic Caravans.?

My Sable, renovated to a high standard is insured for £3000 agreed. A caravan dealer offered £2500 for it, to stand as a display. So I would agree that £5K, although attractive, is not realistic. A nice one went recently for around £1750.

We have been watching prices and there does not seem to be any logic in what they are selling for at the moment we just out it down to area and how many people bid and if you put in it pink and blue material. The 6k nyala that sold a while ago we saw at the national a few years ago and can understand that as it was in fantastic condition but some of the others !!!

On another note where did you get your 3k insurance from for a Cheltenham and have you a valuation from the club?

We had a valuation done at one of the clubs nations for ours but then they were not going for much then might have to have it done again and see what the caravan club come up with, we have watched this caravan on caravan talk

Same here but the other half kids are in brum and it is a easy way of catching up and chatting for us, we can not understand why you have to post your every move etc - maybe we are just getting old
