I know it has been brought up in the past but there are a total of 1170 members with zero postings. Almost half the membership. Why join in the first place.
With the amount of varied topics on this forum I fail to see how anyone who is remotely interested in cars cannot join in discussions. Some have been members since 2007.
Give them a year and if they dont post just delete them. Exclamation

But are they harming anyone, really?

I don't generally like joining things online, passwords to remember, spam and so on, so spent a while trawling the archives here before deciding to take the plunge. In doing so I came across the previous thread on this topic, and if memory serves it didn't end happily. Might be best to let sleeping dogs lie...

I also know two people who own classic vehicles, who are members of
this and other forums, neither have posted but find the forums invaluable
as a source of information and inspirtation.............

They are just a little webshy I guess, but certainly not doing any harm.

Idea

I can't think of any of the web sites I participate on that deletes non-posters, and some sites have 'members' both active and inactive in their multiples of thousands.

It presents me with no issues, but I'm sure its important to you seeing you have raised the issue.

Hundreds of people attend shows, a lot regularly, not all of them say anything.
No less welcome then anyone else.

No you don't, but it's easier to keep tabs on new threads if you are a member Rolling Eyes

I have to admit to not making many posts but I enjoy being a member of this site, I have no problem with people not posting.

That sounds a bit blunt, not meant to be.

What I'm getting at is, the site might be like a book to some, took me a few months start posting, I even had to ask Rick if I was still a member and get a reminder of my log in details.

Mind you having said that even one intro post to say hi would be courteous.
Bring me back to my first post, not everyone says hi at shows either

I doubt you will receive any criticism for your post.
The question and opinion are valid as are the replies

I post, although I no longer own a vehicle older than a few years, which may be seen by some as also not contributing.
