well this morning, my wife and I decided to take a trip to out in the Alvis, to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
on our return to the Alvis....we were met by one of the workers who asked if we liked old cars.....he then took us into a building to see this lot........I couldn't believe my eyes!
before anyone asks......none of the items are for sale.....they're planning to open a museum
hope you like
p.s. sorry if the photos aren't very good....the wife took them _________________ "people with money buy a Rolls Royce, people with taste buy an Alvis". |

will do rick..
the story from the worker who showed us the collection was that all the cars were owned by xxxxx (now deceased).....the large horseless carriage was his first car. whenever he bought a new car, he just put his old one in storage and that's how the collection came about....he did exactly the same with the vans and pick ups for his company, hence the other warehouse with all the trucks in. _________________ "people with money buy a Rolls Royce, people with taste buy an Alvis". |

There are some very rare cars there
The 'veteran' high-wheeler is an International Harvester circa 1908, the red Austin Seven is a KC Special, the orange Seven is a Boyd Carpenter, the blue Swallow is a very early one, the large sports car is a Marendaz Special, and the saloon next to it is a Hotchkiss... Just, WOW! |

I've no idea Alec, he just stopped us as we were getting back in the Alvis.
I was in such a shock that this group of cars were laying there all unmolested that I didn't ask too many questions.......I asked if any were for sale and that's how I found out about the museum idea. _________________ "people with money buy a Rolls Royce, people with taste buy an Alvis". |

just been having a look on the internet for some photos of the other building with the trucks in, here's what I found.....
- external photos removed - RJ
and I'm guessing the building is also full of 'hens teeth' _________________ "people with money buy a Rolls Royce, people with taste buy an Alvis". |
