Hi, this looks like a van that i had a look at some years ago, back then it was being disposed of by the widow of a vintage enthusiast , the van had been bought some years before from a member of the HCC it was situated in the lakes, In dry storage bit still in need of full restoration
We thought at the time the van was a very rare "Airlite" but on closer examination , it was found to be a rather crudely made and sitting on a pre -war morris Axel
I forget the asking price but am sure it was over 2k , this was at the time way over the top , £500 was about right ,
the van seems to have suffered from being stored outside and must be in a right state now
it certainly needs saving but at what price ?

Thank you Van Man for your assistance.
A few more photo`s.
The story is that the chap who owned it was going through a divorce (for buying too many caravans) the caravan was sitting in his garden and had done for a number of years.
Not sure if it was the Lake District (if that is were you mean).
A gentleman purchased it and trailered it home,he never got round to restoring it.
He has now offered it to me. I have yet to view the caravan to asertain its condition. But will do this weekend.
I will keep you informed.

Sounds right, it looks like the van that Fred Littlewood had at Tatton Park many years ago on the J type van stand. They moved up to the lakes before he died. I know it was then sold on, so if its not that one its very similar. _________________ cheers

I'd forgotten that Fred did actually buy it, somewhere I have a photo or two of it.
