| What a beauty. Reading the comments underneath there seem a lot of calls for restoration but personally I'd 'oily rag' it. |

It looks like a great contender for an oily rag
There are so few vehicles around these days in an original state but not requiring restoration to bring back to life, it would be a shame to lose the originality... IMHO.

Restoration removes the 'real life' history of a vehicle, all it becomes then is a chocolate box top example.
Warts and all (preservation) is the way most museums have been going and it'll be a while before that pedulum swings back the other way.
All that said, it should always come down to the owner to make their own choice, but in my view it has to be an informed choice. Great care needs to be taken to ensure the best decision was made at the time, be it either a complete restoration, a partial restoration, conservation or 'oily rag' preservation. |

I agree. Nobody with any soul would even consider doing anything with this bike other than that required to make it useable.
Maybe a Brillo pad and an oily rag could be pressed into service.
