Interesting that it is called the Spuce Goose when the vast majority of the wood used was birch. The plane is on display at the Evergreen Aviation Museum, McMinnville, Oregon and it is worth seeing if you are ever in that area. I have attched some photgraphs of a fact sheet given out by the museum - please excuse the notes written on it.

I think we can forgive them the Spruce Goose - Well I mean the Birch Buzzard just hasnt got the ring to it has it. Just joking my friend thanks for the good post.

On a more serious note did the Russians see a future in this concept and try to develop it? it dose look kind of similar
