I was trying to remember some of the slogans and came up with a couple.
Built by robots........The Fiat Strada
Man and machine in perfect harmony.....The Ford Sierra.
Whatever the load she holds the road.....The Renault Dauphine. ..any more. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

hi
I remember the Strada one being lampooned in one of the comedy shows with final film clips of car crashes and the final punchline ....and driven by Italians.
Incidently it's original name Ritmo was soon converted into Flymo and the Talbot Samba was changed to (well I leave that to your imagination) _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Didn't one 'Invest In An Austin'?
Rover was 'One of Britain's Fine Cars'
The Ford Model T was 'The Universal Car'
Although not an official slogan, many a VW beetle could be seen with a bumper sticker reading "Made in the Black Forest by Elves"
Slightly O.T. but here in Oz, when BMC cars displayed a rear window sticker claiming 'This car Floats on Fluid', there was quite an influx of products from Japan, so many a bumper sticker could be seen saying 'This car Floats on Saki' _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

Bit of a memory test here......
A sung voice over on TV commercial.....
"It's the car that gives you a glow..That will show... When you go....... anywhere."
What car and who sang the song? |

Sorry Chieftan, I was going by your opening sentence, not the thread title.
Also there were no car adverts on T.V. in the U.K., when I left there in 1949, so they must be some sort of new idea! _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

May have got it wrong but I seem to remember Peculia Clarke singing:

Thanks Pigtin... That's how I remember it too!
Other car ads I recall...
Drive a beautiful bargain with British Leyland SUPERDEAL.
It's got rhythm the Renault Dauphine!
Renault 20 (or was it 30) "Who do you think you are? Stirling Moss?" |
