I found this advert in a 1914 Daily Mail .The name came from the alloy used for the universal joints and other components.(Straight out of a reference book. I will now have to find out what a universal joint is!)
I wonder if any still exist. They were only produced for three years
1913-16The picture is very faded but you should be able to magnify it.

I found a reference to Foy-Steeles being sold in Bendigo, Victoria by the Bendigo Taxi-Cab and Motor Garage in July 1914, but I doubt very much that any cars have survived in Australia. _________________ "The distinguished car, with just a little more power than you will ever need." I have just found out today that there are the remains of one Foy-Steele in Australia. _________________ "The distinguished car, with just a little more power than you will ever need." DANIELS - Reading, Pennsylvania: 1916-24 |
