I've rercently become aware of a very large classic caravan show in Europe; next year it's in Germany, near Stuttgart from 9th-12th May. My Triumph and Carlight will be going. Is anyone else interested in coming? The gathering is organised by the following club: www.cocev.de
They have been going for 24 years so next year is the 25th anniversary. Each year the meet is in a different country and in recent years have been in Holland, France, Sweden and Germany. They attract in the region of 200 classic caravans from all over Europe and apparently around 60% are towed by classic cars. On one day of the gathering all modern cars are removed from the site, so there is a real nostalgic feel to the meet - which incidentally is always at a site with facilities and electric hook-up for those that want it.
I've actually booked on to Eurostar on the evening of 4th May, my wife and I will be heading down to Switzerland for a few days before heading back north to the show in Germany. _________________ David Rachel

david and rachel welcome to Europe!
BrianM (who introduced me to ECCR via this forum) and I have attended this event for many years now, along with a few others from this forum I believe. Last year(2011) we were the only British vans to attend in Sweden.
It is a really great event, although it is a rally, rather than a show.
My wife and I incorporate the rally into our annual Euro-jaunt, so we are generally away for up to 12 weeks.
You certainly won't regret going to the rally. New country, new friends, good fun, great experience. What more could you want?
Look forward to seeing you there. |

I'll second that. I have been going spasmodically since the early 1990s and it's always a really enjoyable event. I have only been when it has been in France, where the RCCF do a great job of organising. |
