Like most fanatics, I have always taken photos of examples of cars that I see out and about. In my case these go back a mere thirty years. For me it would be interesting to know if these cars still exist. For the owners it might be nice to have a photograph, possibly from before they owned it.

For a starter back in the mid eighties in the North East is this Standard Vanguard. Does it ring any bells with anyone?

I only have photos of Cortinas and Marinas and Avengers. Nothing really old as I never bothered to take photos.
All you need to do to see if cars still exist is go on to the DVLA website and type in the registration number.

Vanguard is still in existence, on a SORN. The Beetle's tax ran out in March 1985. Looks like it was scrapped as it says 'This vehicle can be licensed at a DVLA local office without a registration certificate' which means it was last registered as 'Trade' which usually means the car was scrapped Sad

Roger, that is a fantastic selection. I particularly like the street scenes. Wher is that? You have had some very interesting cars.

The street scene was sometime in the 1960's I was there with the Army.

We were there, as our regimental HQ, from early 1963 to late early 1966 and it was Tampin in Malaya, we rotated between Singapore and Borneo with the occasional visit to Tampin.
