I am a carpenter, and I have been asked to help in fitting a frame rail in ash to a vintage car, the original wood has rotted away leaving the main subframe mounting bolts and the original aluminium covering, this can be cut away but we are wondering if some sort of hard foam could be sprayed into the void, so giving a pattern to work to, is this possible, if so what type of foam should be used. Any help/tips as to getting the profile right would be much appreciated.

Is it possible for you to post some photos, along with a few more details?

[Hi Uncle Joe, thanks for your interest, sorry not to have got back to you earlier, I now have some photos, how do I get them to you?
The car in question is a 1934 Austin 10 Ripley, apparently only 120 were made. Cheers for now. John (ukbookman)

Rick has done a very nice instruction somewhere on the forum as to how to do it. Its so simple, even I could manage it!
