Sorry to read that he had died. There was a programme on about him tonight. I always remember as a kid watching his TV programmes and continued watching them for years. Even though I knew nothing about astronomy he made it riveting viewing. There will never be another like him.  _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

Certainly a character. Some of his views were perhaps questionable, but his ability to enthuse others is undeniable.
It seems that he was on TV ever since we had TV. |

| It's Sir Patrick Moore isn't it? I remember watching the early B/W episodes of The Sky at Night on a tiny TV screen back in the late 1950s; I've been looking at the night sky ever since. |

I believe he had a Humber at one time. Perhaps Uncle Google will know ? |
