I do like some of the modern answers to old problems.
ie. Getting tall boats under low bridges.

Great pictures Peter,especially the early one of Box Tunnel.
Ancient......Maiden Castle hill fort. All dug using deer antlers.

Pontcysyllte Aquaduct over 200 years old and still use the same 200 year old method to calc the joints.
The pathway is a shelf over half the water trough.

Modern.....Settle to Carlisle Railway especially the Ribblehead viaduct.It looks similar to the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct in design.
