Rick is this an offer? have you a plan for a Bank Job.....I'm in Wink

But seriously! I have been thinking about what I would really like.....so not in any particular order:

Early mini
Lotus Sunbeam
Scammell Arctic Eight / early Highwayman
Austin Healey 3000
GT 40 kit car
Morris MRA lorry
Austin 1300 GT
MK2 Escort RS2000
Mk1 Astra GTE
Bedford CA van

Perhaps we better do a bank job, as I rekon I need a 100 "big ones" (4 times your offer!)Laughing

Dave

1975 DS23 Safari, and the last of the LSE Range Rovers.

But I think I might need a bit more than 25k.

I was going to say,a nice VW microbus split screen, but I saw on in the back of a Motor mag from last year, priced at 45.000 squid!
A bit more modest would be a nice A35 van,and if I had enough left over,a Triumph TR4a.

as i've decided to be more sensible/boring in 2013,i'd buy a sensible 'everyday' classic such as a Hillman Superminx, and put the rest towards paying off the mortgage...although i'd love a classic lorry like an Atkinson Borderer.

A Swallow Doretti:

Arguably it is a better and more attractive car than any of its contemporaries, which is why the screws were put on parent company Tube Investments to stop making it Evil or Very Mad

As a bonus it was made only just up the road from where I live, so for me it is also a part of local history, and would get me an 'entry ticket' to a lot of local events without having to travel too far Smile

The only drawback is finding one for sale could be even more difficult than finding the £25k, so a Hiab might be more useful than a place on your bank job team Wink

Geoff

BTW, the picture comes from this section of an excellent local history site:

I would put it towards a house with more than one garage. Three garages would be very useful, then I'd have room to work on my two Rileys and store all the parts I've collected.

Only just in budget, but I would buy a Jaguar MkIV 3.5L saloon. An incredibly stylish car. There's one on car & classic now for exactly that price in "as found" condition.

Actually, the first thing would probably be a small (and probably modern) motorbike for work, get the fuel costs down a bit Rolling Eyes After that I'd be looking at increasing garage/workshop space, and a few handy but currently unaffordable tools. Then I could be tempted by a small classic van - Minor or Herald Courier, perhaps - or possibly a not very sensible but tidy Vitesse convertible Very Happy

I think I'd probably come across all sensible, and extend the garage then progress some of the things I already have Smile
