hi all
with the dry weather we have up here on tyneside i have been out stripping a b&b chassis of a royale touranger that i bought for spares the body was dismantelled in august and i am just getting round to the chassis now
it is suprising that even a top of the range van had such a light floor
1/4 ply base with a layer of foil insulation topped by a 1 inch foam with 2x1 strips across the joins and 1x1 ariund the edges and finnished with 3/8 ply the whle thing screwed to the chassis rails with 2 inch screws.
my next jod is to remove all the timber rails (nice firewood)
and then dismantle the running gear and corner steadys for spares

we isn't that different we had rain overnight
stijll i was out with the saw this morning cutting out the wooden rails of the chassis and removing the onboard water tank
i have given all the bolts a spray with wd40 and hopefully i will be able to start the process of kitting the chassis for spares

Why? Are they wet?
To help with dismantling rusty / siezed bolts, try a penetrating oil. There are many on the market, my preference being Plusgas. Other people will have their own favourites of course. The one thing that you may not realise is that Water Displacement fluid's 40th attempt at doing ANYTHING useful, is NOT penetrating oil! _________________ Evans Waterless Coolants

i use a mixture of atf and acetone as a penetrating fluid. plus gas is also good as said before .wd 40 is ok for keeping chrome rust free and damp starting engines etc. |

hi folks
i have finnished stripping our b&b chassis it came apart quit well for somthing that was made around the late seventies.
Apart from one broken spring she was in very good condition
with only 3 bolt that needed the angle grinder.
i now turn to my daughters 1972 t1475 that needs new doors and door frame, some kind person punched out a window, and a good service of the brakes
that should keep me busy for a few weeks weather permitting
