Goodness knows how many brass plaques and coasters I have in a box that I have collected over the years.
At the Stirling and District show in June we always get a lovely engraved tumbler and at the Pre67 show in July we always get a mug. At the bus museum in Dunfermline everyone gets a DVD of the show the previous year. At East Kilbride we always get a £5 voucher to use at the burger van.So we do not too bad for our couple of quid. What do you get at shows.?

A lot of people prefer a cup, or a tumbler... I like proper brass plaques... not as many rallies give them out now, but if anyone has any they don't want, I will give them a good home!

We do occasionally at pub meets get a token, which we can exchange for free drinks for the weekend. that's always welcome! Helps after taking all day to drive there at 3mph... lol

Whenever I got one it was chucked into a drawer and eventually thrown away. I can't remember receiving anythiing useful like a coaster or a tumbler, usually a small plaque or a horse brass. Horse brass...? I've never been to a show with a horse Very Happy

Have a box of them from 1985 to recently, mostly horse-brass types from local and Southern shows. Just checked ebay to see if they could be sold... to say the market isn't bouyant would be an understatement; they're probably worth more as scrap.

I also have a draw full, a lot of the pressed and plated alloy ones will have my DNA on them due to having edges that would shame Gillette...

We get a free cuppa at the Herne Bay Town Shows. But some country fayres in this area are starting to charge. Prefer to do the town shows now. It brings people in to increase the takings of local businesses, and exhibitors can get decent food and drink without paying a premium.

I recently scrapped my twenty three years worth of brass plaques.
Got £40. Took Herself out for a meal and a drink.
I'd hate to think how much I spent over the years to get those plaques!
