Certainly not my taste in colour, nor decor - but many people in the seventies loved it!. However, the Safari has a very attractive shape - good luck with the restoration. _________________ David Rachel

Welcome to OCC Gary.
I have seen later photos and would advise anyone interested in Classic Caravan restoration to book-mark this thread to see what can be done with a scrapyard find. _________________ Brian

I love the shape of these vans and would love to own one.
But not in the colour of this one. _________________

Look forward to seeing the latest photos of the restoration. You can't be far away from us, we are also in Wigton. Andrew. |

There are many caravans of the late sixties and early seventies that have very attractive shapes. Construction techniques had reached advanced stages but designs were still essentially by a man with a pencil and a piece of paper. CAD (computer aided design) hadn't yet led to the one size fits all genre that we began to see during the 80's and beyond; not just with caravans but cars too.
I'm also under the impression that Carlight owned the rights to the lantern roof so that the likes of Royale and Safari used the design under licence. _________________ David Rachel
