Hi
I am looking to buy a Truck cab, LWB series 2, Tax exempt landrover, in a useable condition. I want to fit overdrive and a LPG conversion so I have the equivlant of 35-40mpg! Economic, useful and cool!
If anyone has any advice or knows of any for sale get in touch!
The Clubman Estate will have to be sold to free up funds and space, so if you know anyone looking for a mini, give me a shout too!
Cheers

Buzzy, good luck with your search! The thing is though, if you looked for a diesel version of the Pick up I suggested in the other post, you'd get those features without doing any work....and possibly a future classic....

Hi buzzy, yes, they did series 2 diesels, but go for a 2a diesel instead...better engine, and spares are a little bit easier to get hold of, as its based on the petrol one.
Do you really need 4wd?

Hi
4wd would be handy for beekeeping duties driving over countles fields and also helping a mate out who is a head gamekeeper. How come a diesel has such good fuel consumpsion, can you still do overdrive on a diesel?
Cheers

Simply because they are a bit more efficient, thats all.
I couldnt tell you if you can or cant put overdrive on a diesel, I've never even thought about it.
I like Landys because they are so easy to work on, but they would not be my first choice as a working vehicle today, or second, or third.....

Oops! Didnt see the tax exempt.
Other options....stop worrying about fuel consumption, and buy the best 4wd ever made..... an M37! ...then fit it with a Cummins Diesel...

Landy owners are going to hate me for saying this, but I've seen more than a few with cracked axles....take notice how many early ones that are used hard have angle iron strengtheners welded on!

Hi
So a landy, just been watching "it isn't easy being green", and was looking at bio diesel! I think I am going to do a gas conversion, but the only problem is the damn gas tank!
I am quite looking forward to fitting it!
Cheers
