Always had pets, mostly cats since childhood.

Last dog was a Westie, was 16 when it passed away.

Got two cats at the moment, one rescued and one adopted us, think it got left behind when someone moved.

My wife and grand daughter got me a 2 month old kitten for my birthday but I think its just an excuse because they wanted him.

I have Arnold, my frogs. I call them all Arnold because I cannot tell them apart. Arnold is keeping a low profile this time of year but I expect them to be back in the spring... if they haven't croaked in the cold weather.

Somewhere in the corner of my shed, is a scary spider called Grendel. I haven't seen him for a while either.

As for warm furry things... the cats next door are convinced they are keeping us as pets, and like to drop the odd 'dead vole' into my wellingtons to make sure we don't go short of nourishment.

One dog.

A West Highland and Scottish terrier cross called Huw.
He's 10 months old now and a four pawed destruction machine.

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Got up this morning to find our wee kitten lying dead on the floor. I phoned up the breeder and took it back to her and got a refund. She reckoned he must have had a twisted intestine. Seemingly it is quite common in young kittens. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

How distressing.

It's always sad to lose a pet and more so when it's so young with all it's life ahead.

Prior to Huw above I had a white or rather wheaten Scottish Terrier who was the most fantastic dog. I took him to the vet in November 2011 to attend to a minor skin infection and he had a health check at the same time and was declared in excellent health at 10 years old.

In the following January (2012) he deteriorated alarmingly in just 3 weeks to the point where he had to be put to sleep.

We all get too fond or attached to our pets but we never learn, do we?

Had a lovely old Rottie bitch called Tara until we had to have her put down after she had a stroke a few years ago. Missed her like anything.

We now have a five year old white Westie bitch called Jo-jo. Lovely little dog!

Our cat Mad Max died today. He adopted us when he was a stray kitten, if he had lived a few more months we would have had him for 20 years.

Sorry to hear about Max. You must be gutted after all these years. My wife wants another one and has been phoning around and has looked on Gumtree and had me over at the cat and dog home in Hamilton. Are you going to get another one.?

I am saying no at the moment, but who knows. Many years ago we had two kittens from the local Cats Protection League. Do they have those in Scotland?

We are getting another kitten at the weekend from the same breeder. He has just to be vet checked. Cool
