What a fascinating documentary on the skeleton in the Leicester car park finally proving it was the skeleton of the king missing for over 500 years. It is amazing what science and technology can prove now and how they can reconstruct a face.
I wonder if they will now rebury him in Westminster Abbey. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

Its definitely him. I was reading about it on Google and it looks as if he will be interred in Leicester Cathedral. Amazing story. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

I agree. He spent most of his life in the north. His son was made Prince of Wales in York Minster. He spent a lot of time keeping the northern border safe while his brother lived the high life down in London. |

Not the first, and certainly wont be the last person dug up in Leicester with their head caved in! We went to a restuarant near Derby a few years ago and a teenager on the next table asked her mother what the steak knife was called, I just leaned across and said that in Leicester they nomally call it Exhibit A which raised a laugh.

I thought that "spin doctors" were an invention of "New Labour" in the 1990s but it now seems they were just learnt a lot from the Tudors with the negative image they (the Tudors) created of Richard the Third.
William Shakespeare has a lot to answer for as well!
Very enjoyable programme. _________________ Starting Handle Expert

Richard the Third has officially been named as the 1485 National Hide and Seek champion
Rumour has it that his descendants are none too pleased as they will be responsible for his unpaid parking charge of £22.7 million.
And in other news, a large car park has been found under a giant Richard the Third. It's called the M25. _________________ Brian

It looks like Riley541 is right. According to BBC news today York Minster want him as his son is buried there and he is a Northern King. I dont know if he was crowned there. I know he was married there. But its some story. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |
