I like Wheeler Dealers the best. At least they show you the car being fixed. Not like Car SOS. The American Wrecks to Riches is also a good programme. Where would we be without Sky TV.

Anything that has old wheels in it, The New Avengers for example, there are some great cars in that. The 'fix it' programmes are to be taken with large pinches of salt and are as relevant to classic motoring as Ground Force was to landscaping, Changing Rooms to interior design.
Chasing Classic Cars is always worth watching and sometimes I'll sit in front of the TV while bearded, tattooed Americans turn a family sedan into their idea of automotive heaven.
Otherwise there's always 5th Gear though Tiff and Jason's continued attempts to out drift each other is tedious. I did watch some enthusiastic (and surprisingly successful) production car trialling by Jonny Smith and Tom Ford in a Beetle in a repeat a few days back and the former's presentation style is always amusing.
Top Gear is 'same old' same old', many of the segments have out lived their appeal though the three presenters in programmes of their own are usually watchable.
Wheeler Dealers - that pinch of salt needs to be a lorry load to take it seriously though Edd knows his stuff. It's a pity he doesn't have his own series.

Got to be Top Gear Very Happy for entertainment value more than anything else.

Like Riley541 I find programs with Edd China in are good, however I find the "restoration" programs generally have to be watered down to make them viable productions and entertaining for an audience larger than the likes of us Sad ...that said I'd probably get bored if we had "part 3" of "attempting to remove the sheared stud" Laughing Laughing Laughing

I don't mind Top Gear (although some of the jokes are wearing thin), same as American Hot Rod, parts of that are interesting too even if I'm not always keen on the end result(s).

We only have Freeview here (I'd get even less done if we were on Sky), so are spared many of the other programmes Smile

(F1 will be back on soon though, so more wasted Sunday afternoons ahead! I used to enjoy watching rallying too)

I hate most of the "restoration and customization" (yes American spelling) stuff. The only car show I watch now and then is Top Gear just because it's vaguely amusing, but it really needs some new themes too. The Top Gear lookalikes don't excite me at all.

Occasionally Salvage Hunters on Quest has motoring content in it, usually Land Rovers but the occasional lorry, vintage car, and classic appears.

I thought Car SOS (the new one with Fuzz Townshend from Practical Classics) was pretty good. Wheeler Dealers and old episodes of Salvage Squad are worth watching as well.

Edit - Car SOS not Classic Car Rescue, which was dreadful.

There's another fairly new one on Sky as well - Desert Valley Kings - where the owner restores classics with access to his own stock of donor cars for spares.

Two weeks are given to restore a vehicle and the it is then auctioned at DVK's own auction site for what appear to be very modest prices.

Classic SOS is based, I think, on the Chip Foose US programme with the same surprise element of presenting the car to it's owner in restored form.

I may have disliked what Boyd Coddington and company did to cars in American Hotrod but, by heaven, they were thorough and you really learned something from the various series.

Nope VBH doesn't do it for me either. Now Marianna Frostrup used to appear on some car show or other. Much more appealing!
