Hello one and all - I am back again from the terrible toil and have some time to get cracking again with the 8/40. The wheels will be the main priority this time also the brakes, bearings etc.

But looking ahead I am seeing what the best way would be to get hold of a pair of running boards for the old girl. I have managed to source a retro manufacturer in the UK but am wondering if any of the Ozzie contingent have been able to get some a little more locally.

If the local option proves to be a nogo has anyone had experience in importing body parts into Australia from the UK? The manufacturer did not have this experience and communications have gone cold at the moment. I will also be looking at replacement running board rubbers as well as the original ones are like brittle plastic and I don't think they will be able to be transplanted...

Looking forward to some advice........

Hi
This is an article about M8 running boards, with some drawings. They are not complicated to fabricate, and they have been made successfully in fibreglass.

Thanks for that Dave very handy indeed. I checked out Bob's website after your reply and found a great deal of useful info - again thanks.

They do look to a fairly straight forward fabrication and the fibre glass variation looks to be a tempting option any idea of the supplier details?

Cheers
