The most I have spent on one part was back in 2000 when I bought a B series Gold Seal engine for £200 for my marina TC. No doubt that will be washers compared to what some of you have spent. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

A duel mass flywheel for my wifes useless totally unreliable worst car I have ever owned Renault Espace was €750, without the clutch kit, so I plumped for the solid flywheel convertion for a measly €500 (about €450 at the time).

Depends on how you define ONE part
When I bought back my cars JanSpeed Turbo conversion, after its 20 absence, I paid a 4 figure sum .
This is the most I EVER paid for any part (or car) in my collection.
But I am much more proud of the items on the car, that cost me the least
My Lucas 608 mirror was found at a Danish autojumble i haggled it from 4,70 GB pounds to 3,50 he he
The 2 missing "JanSpeed turbo" badges, were given to me by the mechanic that built the car, at JanSpeed 28 years ago.
This is the story of another nice & rare find.
In 2011 I met Nick Rogers at Beaulieu, he was looking for Cosmic MK I rims.
I walked over, and said I had 2 of those in my garage, but that I prefer a swap instead of cash.
he asked what I was looking for ? first item he couldnt help with, but when I mentioned genuine Wood & Pickett badges, he said he had some
It took him a while to locate them, but early 2012 I recived a parcel from UK.
It contained 2 original chrome / enemald Wood & Pickett Mini badges, plus 2 original "Coach work adaption by Wood & Pickett" sill badges.
These items means just as much to me, as any expensive part or item.

A single part? Probably a tyre, about £45 though I needed four. A single item? A reconditioned gearbox, £420. |
