I've just remembered something that came to light a while back about the Big Issue - John Bird is still raking in ££££££'s from it. Yes, that's right, the same John Bird who's been vocal about his desire to see benefits cut, which will throw people out on the street, who'll hopefully then start selling the Big Issue and so making even more money for John Bird... I'm currently trawling google for the original dirt Twisted Evil

"Get the Big Issue" help the homeless. I just tell them that no one is born homeless and I walk on. Quite a few of the sellers take the money and dont give out a magazine.

You obviously have no concept of the many reasons that can lead to homelessness yet you're happy to ignore their plight and insult them into the bargain. You should be ashamed.

Not everyone who sells the Big Issue is homeless

I do give to charities, but in the most part small local ones where my meager offering might do a little good. My only real exception here is Marie Curie. I also have several friends who have, maybe, made bad life choices and from time to time I try to help them. £10 given to Comic relief is insignificant, £10 given to a single mum whose crap husband has dumped her with 3 kids and needs shoes for one of them is a lifeline. We all have local hospices who do unbelievable things with tiny sums and volunteers. If you can afford it give to somewhere local I say!
