One interesting feature is the treatment of the door windows. On these early cars they slid sideways (like the Mini) but on my car (1930) they were operated by an ingenious cable and bobbin in the door; allowing vertical action.
Another - more obvious feature - is the radiator cowl which features a smaller, rectangular opening than mine. Later on the design was radically changed again but this time with a central chrome strip.
I don't think it is unreasonable to suggest that without the Blackpool Austin Swallows, there would be no Jaguar marque. Success of the coach built Austin Seven allowed William Lyons to move his operations to Coventry - and the rest, as they say, is history.

Very nice video with rag time piano accompaniment.. |
Thanks for the info Ray, I've noticed different radiator cowls before now but not the door windows.

That's great stuff! Nice to see Colin behind the wheel and also hear about the half shaft. I'm surprised the car wasn't called Alex rather than LuLu.

I visited a small museum over near Oulton Park some years ago on a visit to UK and saw a Swallow bodied Morris Minor. |

That looked like a lot of fun!
(although not really something for the faint hearted! ) |

I think the pump priming lever only operates if the cam following arm is on the back side of the cam.

I don't think so, Peter.
My recollection is that if the pump lever is tucked under the back of the cam, nothing works!
On the other hand, if the pump is installed correctly both the pump lever & the primer will work. Once the requisite 4-5 lbs psi is achieved, they both 'free-wheel' until the pressure drops. _________________ Mike - MVPeters at comcast.net
