First, may i introduce myself? A newly retired teacher living in Cumbria who ran a couple of LandRover Series 1s many years ago, but whose principal interest in the field of old transport is my website on the old railways of Patagonia at http://www.railwaysofthefarsouth.co.uk/
Occasionally this throws up interesting old photos of road vehicles as well; some of which are beyond my ability to identify. The photographs below are currently taxing me, and any assistance in identifying the vehicles would be much appreciated.
1 An Argentine State Railways (FFCCE) survey party in Chubut territory in 1922.
2 Another view during the same railway surveying trip.
3 This one is at Stanley in the Falklands, but also during the 1920s, probably 1926. The scene is at the Stanley Improvement Works depot.
4 And finally one I can make a guess at. An early Mack carrying a small O&K steam loco, probably before the First World War, in the Rio Negro territory of Argentina.
Well, any guesses? The first two could be of any nationality. Argentina had links with Spain and Italy but US manufacturers will also have been actively selling their products. The third picture, being in the Falklands, is much more likely to be a British made vehicle. And No. 4, as mentioned, I think is a Mack.

Don't recognise the truck in No.1, but the car beyond and to the left is a middle '20's Ford (T of course). The other car looks very much like a Chevrolet.
In No. 2 the truck is most definitely a TT. Unfortunately the figures obscure most of the front, but I would guess circa 1925. The car would be a Chev 6, possibly the same one as in Photo 1.
I am wondering if No. 3 could be one of the smaller Albions.
No.4 is about as Mac as can be. _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

My first impresion of the Lorry in photo 1 is Scammell.
A lot of military spec heavies of that period had a similar layout. |

I thought picture 1 was a Scammel too but from the '30s.

Nice comparison is the tractor unit about 1/2 way down this page.

Front wheel centre line close to Radiator vertical, double set of louvres in bonnet side, high headlights , curved top rear corner to side door window/opening and wheels look similar. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Thanks to everyone who has replied with ideas about these vehicles. I am convinced about the first one being a Scammell, not least by the bodywork having that huge cut-out which would allow for the 'walking beam' rear bogie articulation. However, that suggests the photo would have to be 1927 or later rather than 1922 as I had thought. Or were there earlier versions of that feature?
Keep the ideas coming in. I will certainly acknowledge the group when I add some of these thoughts into picture captions for the book on Patagonian railways that I am currently writing, though I may not have the space to mention individual names!
