Hi Folks,
I want to paint the floor pans and tunnel on the inside of my mk 2 cortina i was wordering should i strip it back to bare metal and one coat of epoxy primer followed by 3 coats of celly primer and then a top coat. What do you think? any ideas? thanks.

Never tried epoxy yet (too expensive) but most comes unstuck in regular use after 2 years but anything is better than nothing and cheap stuff is easy to renew

Depends on the finish required. If you are after concours, then your suggestion reads well, but if you intend to replace the carpets, seems a lot of trouble. If you have access to an air gun (or if not available in aerosol form), you can buy a ruberised covering, that will give far greater abrasion resistance against the carpet, then paint.

I just use Hammerite.. Easy to touch up and no hassle should I need a bit of welding done later.. Leave the sound insulation to the proper stuff.
