Sad
I just bought Stanley my Standard 10 and he is broken.... His engine died on the way home.
He has (had its out) a Triumph Herald 1200 (37bhp) engine fitted...
I Soooooooooo need to get him back on the road he is my only car....
Is there someone out there who can help me please.
A short engine would suffice, if it is a Triumph...
I am so fed up and would be so happy if someone could help......

A Huge thanks for any help......

Emma.

Sorry to hear about that!!

If you're quick there's a Herald chassis with 1296cc engine, on ebay, finishes at 17.44hr today, currently 99p no reserve. Although slightly larger than the 10 engine (948cc) I can't see why it shouldn't go in, once the engine mounting bracket has been swapped over.

Whereabouts are you Emma? It might help if a forum member has a spare engine lying around. Sadly I only have a spare Morris Minor engine Sad

Hope you get it sorted!

I *may* still have a short motor around the back of the garage, it came with my first "10", however I couldn't vouch for its condition, whether it still turns over or not Confused

Hi Emma, I don't know much about Triumph engines but it is most likely correct, as "Triumph" was still known as "Standard Triumph" in the early days of Herald production. Early Herald engines are identical to Standard 10 engines (I think)

Is this any good to you?

Oh thank you for that... It could sort me out totally....... Well Stan......

I shall question the owner over a few points and let you know the outcome.
I shall post some photos of Stan soon too.......
He needs a new paint job but that can wait for a bit.

Thanks again fingers crossed...
