Minx Coupe De Ville
There are loads of rare old photos featuring interesting old cars on oldclassiccar, including this cracking Hillman tourer.
This is one of my favourite old-car photographs from a collection I bought recently, showing what must be one of the most desirable Hillmans ever made. I have two near-identical photos, this one, and another with a small child stood in front of the car door.
Fortunately, there are hand-written notes on the back of each picture. The pics were taken in 1948 or 1949, and show this desirable little Hillman drophead coupe parked outside "110 Old Park Ridings". No other information is given, and sadly part of the car's registration can't be seen. Old Park Ridings is in the N21 area of London (Winchmore Hill), which tallies with information found on other pics I found in this collection of photos. Other pics now featured on oldclassiccar, from this set, include a great P2 Rover, a much later MGB, and several others which will be added in soon.
