1950s motorcycle MTU 518 Royal Enfield

Here are 2 more photos showing an old British motorcycle dating to the postwar era.

MTU 518 is another Royal Enfield, and owned by the same person/group as the similar model on this page.

Again the registration shown in these black & white pictures suggests that this bike was owned in the North West of England, probably in Staffordshire. Two different people are pictured with this bike, yet both photographs came from the same album, and both owners appear in other photos also featured in this classic bike section.

Can anyone tell me what model of bike we're looking at here?
