Classic Americans - a 1947 Pontiac
Amongst a pile of photos I bought recently, was this one that shows a Pontiac Silver Streak parked up at the side of a road. As with several other photos in this set, I'm told that it may have been taken in Singapore.

This sleek motorcar is in fact a Silverstreak built by Pontiac shortly after the war, circa 1947. Older Pontiacs are eagerly collected nowadays, so I bet this black example would be soon snapped up if discovered by a classic car fan.
Shown below, and from just 8 years before, is another Silver Streak, and makes for an interesting comparison with the '47 car. This pre-war car did make it into preservation - the styling of these 1939 sedans takes some beating I reckon! A period photo of a '39 Pontiac can now be found on this page.
