A pair of children's toy 1100s to play with.

Plastic Morris 1100 x2

One battery powered car, the other friction drive.

A couple more toy cars sent over by Alan, and these two are for sale if anyone would like them. Both toys are of the Morris 1100, first version of the ADO16 range to hit the streets of Britain way back in 1962 (more of the Austin/Morris 1100's history here) and quickly became a best-seller. Firstly, the larger of the two toys shown. This was produced by OK. In addition to having an opening bonnet, both front doors also open. It is powered by a battery motor, and features some neat detailing, such as the part-open driver's door window, silver hubcaps, clear plastic lenses on the headlamps, and treaded tyres. The smaller, simpler, toy is also of a Morris 1100 and was made by a company called Maks, probably in Hong Kong. The latter has a friction drive mechanism, so could continue to be played with long after the larger toy's Ever Ready batteries had given up.
