In 1944 thoughts were already turning to the reconstruction that would be required in the bombed-out cities across England after the Luftwaffe had done their bit. With a little regular care these lorries would stay dependable for years to come. The Austin Motor Company were of course based at Longbridge in Birmingham. Models available during the war included the K2 and K4 Austins.
