Hi all,

Technically, this isn't a re-creation or a replica, as it was never built in period.

This very smart car was created on a Jowett chassis, and bodied in aluminium using period factory drawings of a car that was planned for, but never produced.

Smart isn't it?

Not expensive either as Jupiters go!Where this fitted alongside the GRP R4 I do not know. It looks as though the engine cooling system has had a makeover!

I knew I had seen a picture of a Jowett similar to that.

Yes Penman, that is the R4. When Jowett lost their body supply (Briggs, after the Ford acquisition) one of their ideas was to build a Glass Fibre reinforced bodyshell for a developed Jupiter, returning to the pre-war theme of everything produced in house. In the event 3 GRP cars and a single Aluminium bodied one were built, most of which survive.
