Anyone in north Devon up for a challenge? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fordson-Thames-Lorry-Barn-Find-Project-/351599009325?hash=item51dcef1e2d:g:Zv4AAOSwHQ9WZeYT
At £99.00 this looks like an interesting project if you fancy a commercial that isn't a minor van! Were these Petrol or diesel?
No connection with the vendor!

It would certainly be a project, bit too far gone to restore I would say but would yield some very useful parts.

Agreed, very useful to have around if you already own one like it.

Paul,

Most of these were diesel known as the Thames 4D. There was a petrol version but I only every saw/worked on one.

Thanks Art. I remember them but could not recall what fuelled them. Chassis looks sound - make a great classic transporter!

From memory they were designated ET6 (the ET being 'English Truck') They replaced the Forsdon 7V and continued to use the trusty and thirsty Ford V8 although a 4 cylinder petrol engine was used which they called the 'Costcutter engine'.
