The photo of the special-bodied E83W in Amsterdam in the 1950's is really interesting. The curved-back body with sliding doors is very different to most E83W's. The van displays "PTT Technisdienst" on the side of the body. This tranlates to Post, Telephone & Telegraph (the Dutch national telephone company), Technical Service. It's a telephone repair van. Note the SKF (bearings) sign on the storefront behind. What a wonderful photo! -Les Foster, Canada |
