I dont think this should look like this, but how it happened is a complete mystery to me. I wonder if anyone can recognise what it was?

I've never seen one before and it's difficult to gauge its size, but is it the end of a speedo cable?

UJ
It is caused either
1. by the "torque twist" on your V8 rotating the gearbox and taking up all the slack in the speedo cable.
2. going over a speed bump too fast and the bulkhead (and therefore dashboard) moving relative to the drivetrain and again the speedo cable having no slack left.
or
3. you hit it with a screwdriver! _________________ Brian

Brian, I only wish it was as simple as that. At least then I would know what had happened! |
