Hi Guys, My 1967 Midget ( teal Blue ) has had at sometime in it's life a terrible bonnet respray. The bonnet is covered in masses of little raised speckes , I have flatted it down with 1200 grade wet and dry and it looks a lot smoother but it now has lots of swirly scratches on it, has anyone got any idea of the best way to remove them. Should I use a different grade of wet and dry and should I rub it up and down or in a cicular motion. Do I need a stronger compound than T-Cut ? I think when polished better it will look great. Advise please.

Must admit I have never heard of this clay but the results certainly look impressive. Must try it.
After flatting (using soap and 1200 wet and dry) I have always used a fine cutting compound using a blue foam bonnet (for cellulose) or white foam bonnet (for 2K) followed by polish, more polish (pink foam bonnet) and resin gloss finisher (lambswool bonnet) |
