Just found this while going through some old photo's.
It's me and my dad taken outside a cafe in Bedford.
Taken about 1962'ish



Then many years later, this is me in early 1977 at Woodburn Camp, Northern Ireland.

my dad's old firm used to have a number of 2-stroke tippers.i'll never forget the sound of them screaming their way up the hill from the quarry near our house Very Happy

its is a commer but not a two stroke. a two stroke commer had two large sillencers under the front bumper. great lorries

a pal of mine in Oz is forever finding old Commer lorries with that kind of cab, must be far more of them sat around over there than here now.

Thanks Rick, I can't recall seeing one over here, not for a while anyway!
As I write this, I've remembered a Corgi Toy I had, a Chipperfields Circus Booking office. From memory it looked similar but I'm sure it was called a 'Smiths Carrier'???
.....anyone know if this was a real name or maybe I'm talking out of my hat!! Smile Smile
