Just found this while going through some old photo's.
It's me and my dad taken outside a cafe in Bedford.
Taken about 1962'ish
Then many years later, this is me in early 1977 at Woodburn Camp, Northern Ireland.

my dad's old firm used to have a number of 2-stroke tippers.i'll never forget the sound of them screaming their way up the hill from the quarry near our house  |

its is a commer but not a two stroke. a two stroke commer had two large sillencers under the front bumper. great lorries |

Thanks Rick, I can't recall seeing one over here, not for a while anyway!
As I write this, I've remembered a Corgi Toy I had, a Chipperfields Circus Booking office. From memory it looked similar but I'm sure it was called a 'Smiths Carrier'???
.....anyone know if this was a real name or maybe I'm talking out of my hat!!  |
