1. Vintage American Taxis.
A spot of detective work is required with this first vintage photograph, taken in 1920's America and showing various taxis/cabs driving in a street scene.

In the foreground is a policeman, or traffic control officer, guiding the traffic in this vintage scene. Turning right is a taxi cab, with its driver looking over our way. It has a distinctively-shaped logo on the rear door, which I'm hoping that a taxi expert will be able to recognise? Another cab is about to turn across his bows. Charles, from taxi-library.home.att.net thinks it could be a scene from 1920's New York City (NYC), quite possibly Manhattan, but can anyone, who perhaps lives in that area, identify the location for sure, if this is indeed NYC? The street sign visible on the right looks like it might be East 50-something-th Street.

2. Black & White Cab Co.
Alas not all of this 1939 Ford "Fordor" Sedan Deluxe, in operation with the Black & White Cab Co., is visible in this 1940's photograph, which is a real pity. This late-1930s' vehicle is finished in a distinctive two-tone livery, with loudspeaker units fitted to the cab's roof. Thanks to forum member 'stuchamp' for confirming this car's identity.

Other American taxis to feature on the site include this 1960 Ford Fairlane, serving in the Florida area.
