The photos give a good record of the work done but you and I know they cannot even begin to show the sheer frustration that accompanied that particular restoration. !

Thanks Ray, you don't know the half of it either!!!!! There were some significant humps in the road I can tell you.

I read every word of your blog on the restoration.
Such trials and tribulations.!
All I can say is you must be made of some pretty stern stuff.!! |
I had to abridge certain details on the main site's resto diary, I could write a book ...

Hi
Re the Model A.
Newberys Wholesale Chemist is interesting.
There is an C18 mention here.
http://eprints.whiterose.ac.uk/98462/3/SHM%5B1%5D.pdf
Considering
two prominent owners/wholesalers who will be described later in this paper, two of
Francis Newbery’s most successful medicines, Dr James’s Fever Powder and Dr
James’s Analeptic Pills, were patented.
Many more mentions through the paper.
Also in 1968 a London Gazette mention.

I wonder if that was the same company. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

My old Triumph GT6 Mk3 (PHT 725M) is featured 2.5mins in. I notice it now has black wheels and wing mounted mirrors. The windscreen surround is minus the plastic chrome trim which was always difficult to fit properly.
Nice to see the old girl again ( I owned Mellow Yellow for 38 years) but if I wanted to buy her back I would probably have to pay twice what I got for her 8 years ago. |
