2004:
2004 Season Photos
European Motorsport has been competing since 1999. In 2004, they competed in the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club series with a pair of highly modified Series 2 XJ saloons, and a Series 1 XJ. For 2005, one Series 2 was replaced by a later XJ40, and it is this line-up of cars that will be used throughout the 2006 championship.

The cars have all received a substantial amount of preparation prior to this seasons events. Each car puts out over 300bhp, and are stripped out to enable them to run at the minimum weight allowance.

To comply with the regs, each Jaguar has to be kitted out with full roll cages, racing seats and full harnesses, fire extinguisher systems and plenty more.

Races take place not only in the UK but also across Europe (France, Belgium, Holland) and are organised by the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club. UK venues visited in a typical season include Silverstone, Snetterton, Brands Hatch, Donington Park, Lydden Hill, Oulton Park, Rockingham and Thruxton.

European Motorsport's XJ saloons compete against a variety of older and newer Jaguars. Grids usually comprise a mixture of 6 cylinder models, including the 1950s/1960s MK1 & Mk2 saloons, S Types and 420s, with the 1970s models being represented by Series 1 and 2 XJs and XJC Coupes. The 1980s are usually represented by Series 3 XJ saloons, with more recent X300 and X-Type Jaguars bringing things up to date.

XJ40 Jaguar
New to the team for 2005 was a race prepared XJ40 Saloon, and it is this car that Howard Kirkham will be running for a second year..
